Oct 13    Brookside Cemetery Tour
Discover this rural cemetery in the Town of Geneva.  Many original settlers of the Towns of Seneca and Geneva are buried in the oldest section of Brookside Cemetery, which dates from 1820. The cemetery is kept up by the Brookside Cemetery Association. The cemetery is a few miles from the city of Geneva, in the Town of Geneva, close to the top of Snell Road near Pre-Emption Road.
The tour will go on rain or shine. It costs $5 per person. Reservations are appreciated, but not required. Call 315-789-5151 to make reservations or for more information.

Oct 25 - Oct 26    HarFest - An end of harvest Halloween bash!

Our Annual HarFest Bash will be the best way to ring in the fall and celebrate the harvest season on Friday, October 25th from 8-midnight! This celebration will just be for our 21+ fans with Washburn Entertainment to DJ, and since the bash will be held indoors at the Ginny Lee Cafe at Wagner Vineyards, the weather is no issue. Costumes and dancing are not only welcome but encouraged! There will be a costume contest with prizes for the top 3, so bring your “A game!” 

We will have Wagner Vineyards wines, Wagner Valley Brewing Co brews, and full bar for cocktails. Wagner Valley Brewing Co will have a specialty cask of Ghost of Mangose just for the event – a limited batch that you won’t want to miss. The cafe will have a special menu of festive foods (wings, hot wraps, potato skins, and more) available for purchase.

Ranked by Comedy Central as one of the “100 Greatest Standups of all Time,” actor and comedian Sinbad has had audiences laughing for over three decades. His storytelling style of comedy is profound without being profane. Sinbad has recently appeared on Disney’s “Planes,” “Comedy Bang Bang,” “The Eric Andre Show,” FX Television series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice”. Sinbad produced and starred in his own WE TV’s reality show, SINBAD: It’s Just family.” He has done 6 one hour comedy specials in his long comedy career, 4 on HBO and the last 2 on Comedy Central…and he’s not stopping anytime soon!

Oct 27    Tour of St Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery
The tour will include several interesting stories of families and immigrants who lived in Geneva in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Associated with St. Francis de Sales Church (now part of Our Lady of Peace Parish), St. Patrick's burials consist of mostly Italian and Irish immigrants and their descendants. The tour will focus on the history of ethnic groups in Geneva and will address their various experiences. Notable Geneva names and families that will be discussed include DelPapa, Calabrese, Coursey, and Kane, as well as many others.

Oct 30    Celebrating Community Milestones
As part of the Geneva Historical Society’s fall lecture series, celebrate the milestone anniversaries of five of Geneva's community organizations and learn more about their contributions to Geneva’s stories. Geneva’s Rotary and the local chapter of the League of Women Voters are both 100-years-old this year. The Seneca Lake Yacht Club is celebrating 90 years. Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church is 65 years old and the Community Lunch Program started 35 years ago.  A representative from each organization will speak about the history of their community group and its work today.
This lecture is supported in part by the Samuel B. Williams fund for programs in the Humanities and is free and open to the public. For more information about the program, call the Geneva Historical Society office at 315-789-5151. The Geneva History Museum is located in the Prouty-Chew House at 543 South Main Street, Geneva, NY. Parking is on the street or in the Trinity Episcopal Church lot across the street.
