Go from the basement to the belevdere of Rose Hill. This tour is not the same as our regular tour. It is an opportunity for visitors to see and learn about areas of the house not usually accessible to visitors. The tour begins at 11 a.m. and is included in regular admission.The tour is recommended for adults and children 10 years and older. Please be advised that there are many stairs to climb and some confined spaces included in the tour. Because of these limitations, space on the tour is limited, and reservations are required. Reservations may be made by calling Rose Hill at 315-789-3848.

This year marks the centennial of women getting the right to vote in New York State. However, a century ago not all women wanted the vote and many opposed the passage of the suffrage amendment to the New York State Constitution. Among them was Agnes Swan Hutchins (1864-1951) who served as the President of the Geneva Auxiliary of the New York Association Opposed to Suffrage. Born and raised at Rose Hill, how did Agnes become an anti-suffragist? During the tour visitors will explore the life and times of Agnes and come to under why she (and other women) became an “anti.” “Agnes and the Antis” tour is not the same as the regular tour of Rose Hill Mansion. At this free family-oriented event, visitors can see Rose Hill Mansion and grounds at their own pace. Guides stationed throughout the building will share the story of the Swan family, especially the Swan children and their lives at the mansion and farm. In addition, there will be a family scavenger hunt in the house and crafts and old-fashioned games on the grounds. The Hill Brothers will perform a concert, "Across New York State", on the porch at 1 p.m. Their program focuses on music and folklore from New York State’s history, especially the Erie Canal. Using humor, great songs from the period and lots of audience participation The Hill Brothers will bring the audience on a fun-filled musical trip across the state. Finally, Wayne County Historian Marjory Perez will speak about and sign her book, "The Underground Railroad, Final Stop Freedom" at 2:30 p.m.

This summer the Geneva Historical Society is again hosting a free concert series on the lawn at Rose Hill Mansion. For three Sundays the grounds of Rose Hill will be alive with music and fun. Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy an evening of music to end a summer weekend in the Finger Lakes. Native Sol will be the third and final concert in the series. Their repertoire includes classic rock, hip hop, classical, folk, funk and many other genres fused together. On concert days, Rose Hill Mansion will close following the last regular tour at 3:30 p.m. There will be no house tours during the concerts. The Carriage House Gift Shop will also be open during the concerts.
